Last week Altrusa of Richardson, a service league organization of professional women, held their dinner meeting honoring the recipients of the club’s annual scholarships. This year four RISD high school students were winners, two from Lake Highlands High School. Congratulations to Rahiel Alemu, LHHS, Samantha Couch, LHHS, Andrea Abeln, Berkner, and Alyssa Anderson, Berkner.
The young women spoke with poise and insight that seemed beyond their years. Whenever I meet young people such as these women, I feel more certain of brighter future for us all.
