A big weekend for the LH baseball team got off to a rough start. The Wildcats were run-ruled, 12-2, by Berkner on Friday. Saturday’s scheduled game with district-leading Richardson was postponed by rain. That game will be played at 7 p.m. Monday at LH.

Friday night’s game at Berkner was ended in the middle of the fifth inning by the by the 10-run mercy rule.

LH picked up just four hits on the night: two from Michael Ketchmark and two from Byron Burns. Ketchmark had both RBIs.

Berkner made two key defensive plays. In the third inning, the Rams’ right fielder made a diving catch on a Cameron Bodell line drive. With the bases loaded in the fifth, the Berkner third baseman laid out for an inning-ending grab of a smash by David Bloodworth.

Burns and Ryan Browder handled the pitching for the Wildcats. The loss dropped LH into a tie for fourth place with Creekview.
