The Lake Highlands softball team has continued its roll through district play by picking up three more wins and putting itself in position to clinch the 9-5A title win Friday against Creekview.
The Lady Cats helped their cause be beating third-place Berkner, 7-3, last Friday behind six hits, including a triple by Bridget O’Brien. They turned around the next day to defeat Richardson, 11-0. Then LH cleaned up against W.T. White with a 13-0 win. Erin Brennan threw a one-hitter and Amanda Beard had an RBI double.
LH is now 11-1 in district and 15-9-1 overall. Creekview is in second place at 10-2 in district, meaning an LH win over Creekview on Friday locks up the district title for the Lady Cats. The LH-Creekview game is at 7:30 p.m. at LHHS with Senior Night activities beforehand.
