A contingent of LH athletes experienced running against some of the state’s best track performers at last weekend’s Texas Relays in Austin.

Ronnie Jordan led the way with an eighth-place finish in the Div. II 110-meter hurdles. Isaac Grieder brought hom a seventh in the B division for pole vault, while Zack Knickman matched that result in the B division of shot put.

James Bearden placed 17th in the high jump and Meron Fessahaie was 29th in the highly competitive mile. Curry Young was the only LH girl to compete and placed 14th in the 100 meters.

The LH team has one more round of invitational meets this weekend before the District 9-5A meet next Wednesday and Thursday at Richardson’s Eagle-Mustang Stadium. Competition begins each day with field events at noon. Thursday’s running events finals begin at 5 p.m.
