If you frequent the Petsmart store in Old Town Center on Greenville, or the Pet Supplies Plus on Mockingbird, you’ve likely been taken in by — and maybe you’ve even taken home — a doggie up for adoption at one of the PAWS in the City events that are often held here.

But it takes money to care for all those cute canines as they wait for you to adopt them, so on April 8 Paws in the City is hosting the Martinis for Mutts cocktail party fundraiser from 7-10 p.m. at the Candleroom on Henderson.

The annual  party featuring a raffle, photo booth, food, and specialty cocktails, traditionally turns out a good crowd, says volunteer Jill Prudhomme. The tickets are $20 through the Martinis for Mutts website, but act fast—as of today only 89 remain.

The proceeds fund much needed animal care, Jill tells us. “The costs of running Paws in the City are astronomical – spay/neuter operations, foster care, vet care, food, crates, toys, etc, so this fundraiser truly helps keep the organization afloat.”
