Since losing four seniors from last year’s varsity, the LH boys golf team is very young this year. However, is led by two capable captains, senior Randy Appling and junior Bobby Ladtkow, who have high hopes for the season.
The team’s youth comes from sophomores Stephen Allen and Taylor Whorton, as well as freshman Kyle Kennedy. The Wildcats are coached by Chris Cole.
LH’s next tournament is Thursday and Friday, March 25-26, in Mansfield. The district tournament is April 12-13.
Appling and Ladtkow are the team’s scoring leaders and feel confident that LH will make it to the state tournament. Ladtkow said the team should finish first in the district and the team’s inexperience is the only factor that would prevent them from making it to state.
