The LH boys kept the Lake Highlands Invitational trophy to themselves with an overall team win on Friday. The team scored 132 points in the meet at Richardson’s Eagle-Mustang Stadium.
Leading the way was senior Ronnie Jordan who owned the hurdles, winning both the 110 and the 300 meter distances. Distance specialist Meron Fessahaie won the 3,200 and came in second in the 1,600.
Junior David Green won the 200 meters while Isaac Grieder and James Bearden won the pole vault and high jump, respectively. Zach Knickman finished second in the shot put. Leith Waithe finished third in the 400.
Both the boys’ 800 and 1,600 relays came in second, giving them the edge in the final points total over Wylie and Plano.
The girls were led by Curry Young and Paige McCutcheon who went 1-2, respectively, in the 100. Young also won the 200 and McCutcheon won the 400. Kosi Ekwu added a second place performance in the shot put.
