The junior varsity wrestling team ended its season last weekend by winning the JV Championships. Competing against more than 20 other teams, the LH squad scored 219 points to win by 90.

Nine JV wrestlers won first place in their divisions: Juniors David Davis and Braden Fair, and sophomores Andrew Clemons, Biak Thang, Henry Offord, Derek Fritz and Ryan Branch. Second-place finishers included junior Reid Zambordino and sophomores Yordi Calix and Juan Maldonado. Taking third was Jorge Vargas.

The rookie wrestlers ended their season by winning the Bowie Rookie Championships over 23 other teams. LH scored 90 points to finish 20 ahead of second-place Arlington Lamar. Individual champions included freshmen Blake Lueder, Dylan Domizio and Rodger Williams. Placing second were sophomores Adam Bosch and Trace Mears and freshmen D’andre Brumfield and D’Andre Neroes. Taking third was Trevor Gin and placing fourth was Nate Villasana.

There was also a division for varsity wrestlers who did not qualify for state. Senior Robbie Penny won gold for his 100th varsity win. Also taking gold were sophomores Duncan McAulay and Nathan Schulman. Junior Reid Zambordino took silver.
