The LH girls basketball team started with a 16-2 run Tuesday night against Berkner and never looked back. The Lady Wildcats went on to a 45-31 win and now control their playoff destiny. LH needs to win only one of its last two games to be guaranteed a playoff spot.

Defense was the key for the Lady Cats, who held Berkner to single digits in all but the second quarter.

"We just tried to slow down their offense, and I think we just drove them crazy tonight," senior D.J. Sandidge said.

The Lady Cats celebrated the win, but said there is still more work to be done.

"We are getting these games behind us and getting psyched up for Richardson now," Sandidge said.

Game Notes:

– Hannah Wedding led LH in scoring with 13 points. Bridget O’Brien and Tierra Scott also got into double digits with 11 points each.

– LH really locked down Berkner inside, holding the Lady Rams to 12 points inside the 3-point arc.

– LH next plays at Richardson on Friday, with the varsity game tipping off at 7:30 p.m.
