Glee, the quirky musical television series featuring LHHS graduate Mark Salling, won “Best Television Series, Comedy or Musical” at the Golden Globes last night and Salling was there, taking the stage in his signature Mohawk haircut along with the rest of the cast.

The young cast members looked a bit shell-shocked, rubbing elbows with attendees like Martin Scorsese, George Clooney and Matt Damon, but they were clearly excited when shown cheering for their castmates. Other nominees from the show included: Lea Michele (Rachel), nominated for Best Actress (Toni Collette won for United States of Tara), Matthew Morrison (Will Schuester), nominated for Best Actor (Alec Baldwin won for 30 Rock), and the hilarious Jane Lynch (Sue Sylvester, leader of the Cheerios), nominated for Best Supporting Actress.

At the post-show press conference (Salling is the one holding the Glee sign), they share how much they’re enjoying making the show and how famous folks like Julia Roberts and Jennifer Lopez have been asking to make an appearance on an episode. Suri Cruise (young daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes) is reportedly a big fan, and I read that Bruce Springsteen recently approached Matthew Morrison at a restaurant and asked if he could bring his family over to say hello. Pretty heady stuff for the young unknowns that make up the cast. Congratulations to Mark and parents John and Condy Salling, still LH residents.
