The LH varsity wrestling team won the Saginaw tournament on Saturday by 100 points.  Two Wildcat  wrestlers won the coveted “most outstanding wrestler” awards for the tournament.  Robbie Penny (pictured) won for the lower weight classes and Isaac Grieder won for the upper weights.

All told, the team had six individual champions: Drew Llorett, Isaac Kinsella, Robbie Penny, Isaac Grieder, Ebrma Njie and Brent Bono.  Placing second were senior John Powers and sophomores Bubba Smitham and Henry Offord.  Placing third were junior Reid Zambardino and sophomore Ryan Branch.

The LH junior varsity was also were crowned champions at the Saginaw tournament. Placing first were juniors David Davis and D.D. Fields and sophomores Jorge Vargas, Biak Thang and Yordi Calix.  Coming in second were  freshmen Deandre Neroes and Nate Villasana, sophomores Adam Bosch, Jamie Carson, Derek Fritz, Isaac Gonzales and Parker Starr and senior J.J. Floyd.   Sophomore Scott Curry came in third.
        
The team hosts Grapevine Tuesday night in the small gym. JV starts at 6 p.m. and varsity starts at 7 p.m.
