The White Rock Lake Conservancy members last Sunday, along with members of the Dallas Parks Board, announced specific plans and fundraising goals for the future of White Rock Lake.
There was quite a bit of information outlined so we will deliver it to you in morsels. Tomorrow, I’ll write a little bit more about the Conservancy’s number one priority, the completion of the East Lawther trail and parking improvements.
After that, we’ll touch on the remainder of the proposed improvements and what is needed in order to get those done.
The priorities, in order, are as follows: East Lawther Trail (in three phases)
Reflection Point, which will connect to the Santa Fe Trail in East Dallas
Mockingbird Dog Park renovation
Lighting Masterplan (you remember this one, right?)
New furnishings and signage around the lake
Water quality improvements
The main theme of the recent meeting seemed to be rallying all the White Rock Lake groups — For the Love of the Lake, Friends of the Bath House, White Rock, Volunteers in Patrol and the White Rock Lake Foundation, for example — to work together to raise the needed funds in order to meet the goals.
For now, here’s a video of highlights from that meeting.
