Talk about your tough openers. The LH boys basketball team faces San Antonio Reagan, ranked No. 10 in Class 5A in the latest TABC poll, at 8 p.m. today in the opening round of the Tomatillos Lone Star Invitational. Not only that, but the Wildcats have to play San Antonio Reagan on Reagan’s home floor.
"We will have our work cut out for us," LH coach Rob Wylie said. "We need to improve our scoring and shooting in half-court situations. I like our defense, for the most part, and our transition offense is good."
LH is 4-3 on the season and faces a tournament field loaded with some of the state’s top teams. The tournament runs through Saturday at various locations in the San Antonio area.
"Right now we are spending a lot of practice time on half-court offense and the results haven’t yet shown up in our games," Wylie said. "We’ll get there."
