Christmas came early in Lake Highlands as hundreds of folks turned out Saturday to deliver donations to box and mail for active military serving overseas. The Exchange Club hosted the event, attended by Santa and assisted by LH Military Moms who customized and labeled each box to send directly to our LH soldiers. Including 41 boxes sent by students of Highlander School last week, 140 packages from home will be sent, full of “feel good” items like Campbell’s soup, snugly blankets, hand warmers, and laundry detergent. Also tucked into each box was a hand-written note of encouragement and support.

LHEC member Greg Duval organized the event and mailed the packages courtesy of generous LH donors, who gave $800 to pay for postage overseas. "We are all truly blessed to be in a community who comes together when they are called to serve," President Rhonda Russell told her troops. "May you all receive the blessings from participating in this worthwhile project.”
