Ricky Zorn is the Wildcats’ senior quarterback and is a team captain for the second straight season. He is ranked second academically in his class and was among the area’s top passers and rushers during the regular season. Zorn’s leadership shows both on and off the field as he was named "Youth of the Month" by the Exchange Club of Lake Highlands this September.

A: Pizza. Every night before a game, some people from the team go to Brothers Pizza for a pre-game meal.

Q: What changed at halftime last game, when the offense started to click and LH gained all of the momentum?

A: The coaches inspired us and told us about adjustments that we needed to make. We just went out there and executed the game plan.

Q: Does this John Tyler defense worry the offensive unit in any way?

A: Well they have a defensive tackle who is going to the University of Texas, but I think that we will be able to move the ball against them.

Q: What is the best thing about being on the Lake Highlands football team?

A: Definitely the gifts and food that the senior women bring the players on Fridays.

Q: What is the best book that you have ever read?

A: Lord of the Flies by William Golding.

Q: What is your favorite to listen to?

A: I like both country and Christian music.

Q: How do you manage to find the balance between football and academics?

A: I have to make sacrifices and be disciplined in order to manage my time appropriately.

Q: What is your favorite thing to do when you are not playing football?

A: I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I also like to watch games on television and play fantasy football.
