Get ready for a week-long buildup to one of the biggest playoff games in recent memory for Lake Highlands.

For the first time ever, the Wildcats will host a playoff game at Wildcat-Ram Stadium. Not only that, the game is against longtime playoff rival and traditional state power Tyler John Tyler. The game is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday and I’m already hearing a lot of buzz, not just from LH fans but high school football fans in general. It could be a huge crowd.

John Tyler is no doubt still steaming from last year’s game, when the Wildcats and Lions met in the second round in Corsicana and LH came back with a 28-27 win. But LH will probably have a few tricks up its sleeve – not to mention the magic of The Boneyard.

Stay tuned to the LH Sports Blog for all the info on the game. And if you really want to get the inside scoop, join us at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Picasso’s Pizza and Grill, Skillman at Walnut Hill, for the Wildcat Sports Report. We will have an in-depth preview of the game from LH head coach Scott Smith, Wildcat players and VIP guests.

It’s one of those weeks where it seems to take forever to get to Friday night, but we will get you through it.
