Wrestling media mom Ann Villasana turned in a glowing report from the LH wrestling team’s first dual meet of the season:
The Lake Highlands varsity wrestling team opened its season Tuesday with a 66-18 win over district rival Wylie. The Wildcats started their season with a pin by senior Isaac Grieder. From that point on, the team recorded another 10 pins for the runaway victory.
Other seniors with pins were Drew Llorett, Isaac Kinsella, Robbie Penny, Colman Vigil (pictured), Brent Bono and Ebrima Njie. Three sophomores also pinned: Duncan Mcauley, Lee Lueder and Nathan Schulman.
The JV wrestling team also dominated with a score of 64-5. Recording pins were juniors Reed Zambardino and David Davis and Sophomores Jorge Vargas, Adyson Gorischek, Isaac Gonzalez and Juan Maldonado. Freshman, Blake Lueder, celebrated his JV debut with a pin.
Next up for the Wildcat wrestling team are the Keller Duals this Saturday.
