The Wildcat volleyball team defeated Molina on Tuesday night, 25-11, 25-2, 25-9 at the Ellis Davis Fieldhouse. This marks the second straight season in which the Wildcats have finished District 9-5A play undefeated.

Coach Melissa Christman said that she was, "proud that the team focused during every match and took care of business," in district play. But, she added that the team had, "lots more to do to get ready for playoffs."

Either next Monday or Tuesday, the Wildcats will play the fourth place finisher in district 10-5A, which will most likely be the Garland Owls.

Unlike last year, Lake Highlands will not play a tune-up match against another playoff team because, as Coach Christman said, the Wildcats have played, "a full regular season schedule, all 23 matches that a team is permitted to play." Christman also noted that, "in general, Garland schools are scrappy so we will be getting ready by simulating that type of play."

Last year, the Wildcats reached the State Semifinals, but were eventually defeated by Austin Westlake. Wednesday morning, coaches from the playoff teams in the area will meet to make the first round playoff pairings official.
