Police say the prowler we told you about here may have been victimizing Lake Highlands residents for years now.
“From what we can gather, he may have struck two years ago. He’s just inconsistent,” Deputy Chief Tom Lawrence, commander of the Northeast police subdivision says.
The perpetrator—a 5’11-ish 18-30 year-old man with a slim build and a pudgy middle—targets homes where young girls live, Lawrence says. He seems to know his way around the neighborhood, a confined area near Walnut Hill and Audelia. “We think it is someone who lives there or at least someone who is very familiar with the area,” Lawrence says.
Police are looking at a person of interest whom they have linked to several incidents of peeking into homes "while he is in various stages of undress", Lawrence says. Sometimes he covers his face, and usually he strikes when it is dark, between about 10 p.m. and 2 a.m., so it has been difficult to get a solid description. Police have charged said person of interest with trespassing in the past, but this time, since he has exposed himself to an underage girl, they could possibly get him on more serious charges.
There will be extra police presence in the neighborhood and Lawrence recommends keeping blinds closed (so the guy doesn’t have anything to look at) and turning on outdoor lights.
