The Lake Highlands volleyball team turned in a focused performance Tuesday night in beating Richardson, 25-23, 25-22, 25-13.

"Tonight we really showed consistency and heart," senior libero Christina Flanagan said. "Our energy was awesome and everything connected. The last thing our coach said to us tonight was, ‘Now that was good.’ We proved ourselves."

The win improved the Wildcats’ record to 4-0 in District 9-5A. Carrollton Creekview, LH’s opponent next Tuesday, is the only other undefeated team in the district.

"Tonight I think everyone played well and together," senior Rachael Zreet said. "After the game we all agreed that this game really felt like we never let down and just played our best the entire time, unlike Berkner [last Friday] when we let them take a game off of us."

LH next plays W.T. White on Friday at the LHHS gym. The junior varsity match is set for 5:30 p.m. with the varsity scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The Wildcats hope to maintain the intensity they displayed against Richardson.

"We just stayed really consistent in our energy and in our playing," junior Hollyn Adams said. "It was much better [than the Berkner match]."
