The win over Garland impressed the Morning News’ voters enough to return Lake Highlands to their area football rankings at No. 18. The Wildcats never left TheOldCoach.com’s area rankings and are now at No. 9 among Class 5A teams.
Interestingly, TheOldCoach.com includes Abilene and the Tyler schools in its area rankings, so its rankings cover an even broader area than the DMN. It’s really more of a regional ranking.
