The first pep rally of the season was held at Lake Highlands High School Friday, with multiple student groups participating. In addition to the football team laying down a challenge to the Mesquite Skeeters, the cheerleaders tumbled, the Highlandettes danced, and the Wranglers boot-scooted (shown here). Senior Colman Vigil acted as emcee, announcing the year’s theme – “Gettin’ it done like in ’81”. The Wildcat football team won state in 1981, and everyone involved is looking for a repeat in 2009.
