The crowd of scouts and media here in the pressbox is not happy with Lake Highlands’ new road jerseys. The word "ridiculous" has been repeated quite often.
From up here, the numbers are not discernable with the naked eye. Fortunately, your trusty reporter has a pair of binoculars.
Coach Scott Smith chose the white numbers, saying he saw them on a small college team and liked how it looked. I don’t think his opposing coaches will agree. The numbers probably won’t show up at all on the game video LH trades with opponents. I wouldn’t be surprised if some form of complaint is filed with the district or UIL, but Smith says they are within the rules.
Stay tuned. This white-on-white issue could be bigger than Jerry Jones’ scoreboard.
