Tristan Fick, 2009 graduate of Lake Highlands High, is featured in a Dallas Morning News story about what high school graduates have opted to do in their summer after high school. World travel, community service, writing poetry, and summer camps of all varieties land on the list, but Tristan’s story stands out – he spent the summer preparing to serve his country. Tristan shipped out in July for basic training. In October of his senior year, he joined the Marine Corps Delayed Entry Program.

Tristan was a captain on the Wildcat cross country team while at LH. He was easy to spot on the track with his beautiful head of hair, which I assume will be one of many sacrifices in his future. He’s excited about the opportunity according to his mom, Cindy Serine, and he’s looking forward to this next adventure.
