The start of freshman volleyball workouts at Lake Highlands has been delayed until at least Wednesday, head coach Melissa Christman said Monday, because one of the players tested positive for swine flu.

Christman said the infected player is doing well, as is the rest of the team. The delay is a precaution against further infection.

"We’re pretty sure they caught it at a camp," Christman said. "They’re doing OK. They’ve all got medicine."

The varsity and junior varsity players began tryouts as scheduled Monday morning with physical testing. The players will conduct skills testing Monday afternoon. The varsity roster will be set Tuesday afternoon, Christman said.
