In case you haven’t yet picked up your copy of Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Magazine (and at $9.95 a copy, who can blame you for waiting until the rent check clears?) the magazine predicts Lake Highlands will finish second in District 9-5A. No surprise, since Skyline is loaded with nine players committed to major college programs.

DCTF listed Lake Highlands No. 1 among its Five Darkhorses in Class 5A – teams that aren’t ranked in their Top 25 but that opponents "would be foolish to ignore." So there’s definite respect for the reigning 9-5A champions.

Some other highlights: LH quarterback Ricky Zorn is the magazine’s pick for Preseason Offensive MVP in 9-5A. Desmond Roland is listed among the Top 100 juniors in the recruiting section. The LH-Garland game, Sept. 10 at Williams Stadium, is among the "Dream Tour" games – one for each week of the season.

There’s more about LH and and a massive amount of other info in DCTF, which has become known as The Bible for Texas high school football. Plenty to entertain the football fan until two-a-days begin.
