The rumors are confirmed – the old Wal-mart space at Audelia and Walnut Hill is serving as a movie set for “Spilt Milk.”

According to a summary I received from local publicist Vivian Fullerlove, the film is about Todd Wells, a down-on-his-luck drug store grocer who has nothing going for him until his high school friend, Eric, robs the drug store where he works. As Eric and Todd wait for morning when Todd can open the time lock safe, they catch up on the years since they’ve seen each other and Todd is forced to re-evaluate the way his life has gone. The hostages are similarly forced to reconsider their lives and relationships and all of them end the film changed by the night’s events. When a couple of real criminals show up and put everyone in mortal danger, Todd has to step up and take a chance if he wants to save the day.

The film is executive produced by John Terry, a Dallas native who worked in Hollywood throughout the 1970’s and founded his own construction company here in Dallas before retiring in 2004 and returning to film. Director Blake Calhoun is an award winning Dallas filmmaker who has written, produced and directed three independent feature films. He also created the web series “Pink” which Fullerlove notes has almost 5 million views to date.

No word on when the film will be released, but be sure to check Balk Talk for more updates.
