Today is the last day of school in Lake Highlands, and kids are celebrating all over the neighborhood. Expect long lines at your corner Sonic as they blow off a little steam.

Commencement will be held at the Garland Special Events Center this Sunday at 5 pm. Graduation ceremonies were moved there from SMU in 2006 due to better parking and accessibility for the disabled. The center holds 7,000 people, and it will be packed to the rafters with grannies and aunties and all the family and friends of the graduating class of 2009. Free tickets are available in the front office of LHHS.
