Northlake Elementary will be closed this week due to several probable cases of swine flu. The Richardson ISD made automated phone calls Monday night to alert parents, students, and teachers, saying they plan to reopen the school on Monday, May 11. The district has been working with Dallas County Health and Human Services and is closely monitoring each individual child with symptoms.

Nearby Wallace Elementary has not announced any change in schedule, though they currently have one student listed as probable for swine flu.

Northlake teachers and staff should report to work as usual (assuming they aren’t sick), as should siblings of Northlake kids who attend other schools. Northlake Elementary is next door to the Audelia Road Library, site of early voting in Lake Highlands. Additional up-to-date information about RISD schools is available on their website.
