The influx of young families settling in Lake Highlands these days (isn’t it wonderful?!?!) has brought some gentle changes to the neighborhood. Area elementary schools are fielding phone calls about Kindergarten Round Up, and the choo-choo train park near my home (Arbor Park at Hilldale) is full of adorable toddlers and moms pushing strollers.

Three sisters have teamed up to offer Three Sisters Consignments, a recycling project of sorts wherein area families can sell anything related to children – clothing, shoes, toys, books, children’s furniture, play equipment, maternity items, etc. Anyone with things to sell can be a consignor, and everyone can shop. Consignors keep 70% of the sales price, and unsold items are donated to charity. The project is in its fourth year, and the sale will be held March 6-8 at Highland Oaks Church of Christ, 10805 Walnut Hill. More info is available on their website.
