Book lovers on a budget can pick up everything from their favorite mysteries and romance novels (the two categories  that always sell quickly) to best sellers, cookbooks, how-to guides, art and coffee table books and thousands of children’s books at Valley View this weekend. Children’s Golden books are 25 cents, and other children’s books are 50 cents.  Adult paperbacks are $1, and adult hardbacks sell for $2.

Richardson Independent School District’s Council of PTAs organizes the event, which is chaired by Jeannie Curto this year.  Each school conducts a book drive, then proceeds are distributed to individual schools and into a scholarship fund for deserving RISD seniors to attend college.
Celebrity readers will read their favorite children’s book on Saturday, Feb 14, from 1-3 p.m. on the stage in the  center food court.
