It hasn’t been open in its new location for long, but when I dined at La Duni NorthPark for lunch on a recent Tuesday, the place was packed (except for the back room, which the restaurant didn’t open for lunch).
The service has a lot to do with it. I brought my laptop along, and the hostess showed me to a table near an outlet, and offered me the restaurant’s WiFi password. The waiter was the perfect mix of attentive but not-too-attentive. And I love the La Duni atmosphere, which is both cozy and hip.
I was in the mood for a sandwich and decided to try one of their BLTs. (I’m a sucker for BLT variations; my favorite is Izmir Cafe & Deli’s pita BLT lunch special.) La Duni has two options, one on a popover with avacado mash, and one with buffalo mozzarella on a ciabatta roll. I opted for the latter because I love buffalo mozzarella, and ordered it with the house salad. Both were yummy, but I may have enjoyed the sandwich more if it was warm (which I am sure the restaurant would be willing to accommodate if I had asked).
I also tried a drink from the restaurant’s limonada menu, the limonada mango, which was delicious. And of course, the fluffy corn chips and salsa assagued my hunger until my meal arrived.
