The campus at the corner of Lakemere and Ferndale is in partial power mode today, however, Principal Kim Sullivan reports that everything is under control (these folks are so good with emergency procedures). The phones are not working so they are using walkie talkies in the building. I’ve seen this before and it’s really kind of fun — the teachers kind of get into a ‘spy’ persona! Also, the cafeteria is unable to cook so cold lunches will be provided, meaning there’s going to be some cranky kids eating cheese sandwiches. But hey, they will be eating lunch.
Principal Sullivan immediately sent out notification to PTA representatives this morning and word spread quickly via email to parents. This is not the first time the school has adjusted to a power outage and once the plan of action was put in place, she wanted to assure parents that all was well with the kids.
