Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) at the Senior Source is looking for volunteers age 55+ to volunteer with more than 230 non-profit agencies in Dallas and Collin counties. AARP is seeking volunteers to help with tax counseling and preparation services for all middle and low income tax payers, with special attention to those age 60 or older, for the tax year 2008. This program provides trained volunteer tax preparer, free of charge, from Feb. 1-April 15, 2009. The program requires that all volunteers attend a short training school in January 2009. Volunteers receive a self-study manual and are required to pass a test approved by IRS. The service requires work for one afternoon each week. Call local co-coordinator Narendra Sheth at 214.821.1529.
