Technology is a wonderful thing. One of regular commenters, Aren Cambre, has solved a problem that’s been vexing us here at the magazines for as long as we have been doing them. He has created a map of neighborhood associations east of White Rock Lake.
This still doesn’t resolve the problem that is even more vexing — there is no complete list of neighborhood groups anywhere in Dallas. Believe me, I know, because I’ve been looking, off and on, for 16 years. Some don’t belong to the Dallas Homeowners League, some are crime watch groups that aren’t technically neighborhood groups, and some are defunct. (I know about the latter because I get mail at the house for something called the Fisher Road Neighborhood Association, which as far as I know doesn’t exist any more.)
Still, if Aren can do it for his part of town, there is no reason why someone can’t do it for their part of town. Let us know if you do — we’ll certainly find room for it on the Advocate web site.
