Don’t count on seeing either chef, stars of public TV and the cookbook circuit, when they appear at the Lovers Lane Central Market in the fall. Both of their cooking classes have long been sold out.

In fact, scheduling is so tight that I have been told that maybe, if I’m lucky, I can get 10 minutes to interview Pepin. If you still feel compelled to go, they will be signing their new cookbooks when they’re at Central Market (if you buy the book at Central Market, of course). Yan will probably sign as part of his 6:30 p.m. class on Sept. 19, says the chain’s Aimee Deputy, but details aren’t final. Pepin will sign at 7:45 p.m. on Oct. 8.

So, as a public service, I combed through the Central Market fall schedule and found a couple of interesting events for those of us who can’t see Pepin and Yan. (And no, I didn’t include the nutritionist from The Biggest Loser):

• David Uygur, the executive chef at Lola, and Jennifer Uygur, who oversees the store’s wine department (and puts up with lots of questions from me), will discuss how to pair food and wine at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 22.

• Lake Highlands’ Brian Luscher of The Grape (who is featured in the chefs story in the September magazine) will do Oktoberfest at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 29.

• Riedel glass tasting at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 17. I can’t recommend this enough, since it shows that the quality of the glasses makes a difference in how the wine tastes.
