My wife and I are always on a search for a nice Pinot Noir in the Spring, to go with roast chicken, salmon or burgers — all hot off the "barbie." We discovered one this past weekend that rose to the occasion, Le Grand Pinot Noir, from France. It is sourced from Limoux, which is in the Languedoc in southern France, considered by some to be the "Tuscany of Southern of France." In the glass it’s a medium-bright garnet color with aromas of currant and cherries. It has enough tannins to stand up to grilled burgers, but not so much as to overwhelm the fish or chicken. It’s very smooth and has a pleasant, light finish. Highly recommended, and a great deal at 10-11 dollars at World Market or Whole Foods.
