As a Girl Scout ‘Cookie Mom’, I receive regular updates like warehouse hours for cookie pick ups, booth assignments, special badges that can be earned, etc. This notification just came across my email today. I like to think I’m a kind of worldly gal but this one floored me. This is just wrong. It’s the Girl Scouts! You don’t cheat the Girl Scouts!

Two Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas (GSNETX) Troops received counterfeit $100 bills during booth sales. Please rest assured that GSNETX takes these incidents very seriously and our main objective is to support our girls and volunteers.

GSNETX has received several calls from individuals who wish to make a donation to help these Girl Scout Troops recoup their loss. GSNETX wants to be sure that all volunteers are aware that, once these Girl Scout Troops reported the incidents, they were reimbursed by GSNETX within 24 hours.

If someone asks you how they can help, please encourage them to donate directly to GSNETX. They may do so at the Girl Scout Troop level by purchasing Girl Scout Cookies or Project Troop to Troop Cookies, or contact Natalie Arnold here: narnold@gsnetx.org
