Yesterday Lake Highlands Elementary really ‘hooped it up’ and put on quite a pep rally to promote the upcoming Hoops In The Highlands three-on-three annual b-ball tourny fundraiser. The event, hosted by LHJS, WRE, LHE, Wallace and Northlake, is chock full of not only basketball, but live music, concessions, games, and just about everything needed for a day of family fun
While the big screen blasted a vid with highlights from last years event, LHE moms took the stage and called out registered teams with names like ‘The Dough Boys’, ‘Hot Shots’, ‘Dunkin’ Donuts’, ‘Dooms Day Dragons’, ‘Panthers’ and ‘Bionicles’. And thanks to registration being extended until Thursday, March 13th, kids were grabbing registration forms in between fielding the big orange blow up basketballs being tossed around the cafeteria.
Hoops In The Highlands takes place Saturday, March 29th at the Highland Oaks Church of Christ. It is open to all competitors 1st though 8th grade. Registration forms are available here
