I had heard about the trend of senior citizens buying up the Nintendo Wii in droves, but I encountered this firsthand yesterday when my mother called to tell us that my 70-year-old nana bought one for herself and my papa. This is the same nana to whom I gave an ancient desktop computer about three years ago (and by ancient, I mean made in 2002), and who has not yet moved beyond using the Solitaire game.

Turns out they visited my great aunt and uncle last weekend, and had a blast with Wii bowling, which is apparently the most popular game among seniors. In fact, Highland Springs retirement community in Far North Dallas competed in a Wii bowling tournament last fall with three other Erickson Retirement Communities. No, they didn’t win, but in this video, it doesn’t matter who wins or loses — it’s who comes up with the best bowling nickname.
