I was driving my husband to the Skillman DART station this morning. We were heading north on Plano Road and came to the intersection of Miller, just south of LBJ. He pointed out to me that the Shell gas station on the corner was $3.07/gallon but just behind it, a bit obscured and a bit more difficult to get to, was the Texaco gas station at $2.65/gallon. Yeh, you read that right – .42/gallon cheaper. He went on to say that he’d stopped there a time or two but the hours were inconsistent.

He told me he’s been paying attention now for the past month and has noticed that stations, brand names too, that were a bit off the beaten path had cheaper gas prices.

So what does that mean? Petrol pricing has nothing to do with barrels and politics but is all about location, location, location?
