The new districting assignments have just been announced by the University Interscholastic League (UIL), and a big change is in store for Lake Highlands athletics, band, choir, debate, and other competitive organizations. They put us with Dallas ISD.

Amazingly, DISD is down to just four high schools in 5-A, the big school division where LH lands. Our district, beginning next school year and lasting at least two school years is: Carrollton Creekview, Molina, Skyline, Sunset, W T White, Berkner, Richardson, and Lake Highlands.

District alignment is a complicated process, with lots of factors to consider. We’ll have to see if this is an improvement over facing the mega-schools of Plano and Allen.
