They sure make them some pretty (misleading) movies at NTTA, yup! I love that disclaimer, too. It reminds one of "nobody ever said the parkway was going to be a slow road and not a toll road." It sure looks to me like it’s deja vu all over again.
Did anyone notice that the proposed toll road is meandering along the top of the levee, where the corp said it can’t go? As Jim Shutze pointed out here, it can’t go on top of the levees. It has to have its own, autonomous protection system.
Additionally, did anyone notice that there’s all sorts of big trees planted all along the levee? Anybody that’s been to New Orleans, and knows anything about levee basics, knows that trees are not allowed on levees, nor within so many yards of a levee. Why? Because tree roots weaken levees!
But hey, "This visual aid was created for illustrative purposes only…" so pay no attention to it.
