Want to nosh on some local food, get outside on a gorgeous September day and support a great cause at the same time? Good, because the Lake Highlands Area Band Club is putting on its first annual Taste of Lake Highlands on Sept. 22 — mark your calendars.
The event will be held at the Lake Highlands High parking lot, on Church Road just east of White Rock Trail, from 11 a.m. till 7 p.m. There will be food and drink available for purchase, from such local places as Highlands Cafe, Picasso’s and Eat the World (I love Toby’s tamales!). Entertainment includes live music, a local celebrity dunk tank (hmmmmm?), a bounce house for the kids and a pet adoption service from East Lake Veterinary.
So, bring your friends, bring your kids, and bring your laundry ’cause there will be free washers and dryers the first 10,000 of you coming out… wait, scratch that part… I was channeling Cheech and Chong there. Admission and parking are free and more details can be found at the link above.
