I didn’t realize toilets could get me so excited. After several years of flushing the city’s conservation efforts at every opportunity, I stumbled on Dallas Water Utilities’ $90 low-flush toilet voucher offer. (I will not be petty and note that I found it by accident, and that I never saw an announcement in a water bill or in Dallas’ Only Daily Newspaper — I’m just happy we’re doing it.)
So set time aside this weekend to replace that old, water-guzzling high flow toilet with a new, sleek low-flow model that uses 40 percent less water. This is about the easiest way possible to cut water use, and the city is paying you to do it. What could be better than that?
