It’s romance a la old world Europe at ST Café, where owners Hans and Clare Van Loenen have poured their hearts and souls into the cozy neighborhood eatery. Their handiwork — Hans on the restaurant dishes and Clare on the acclaimed desserts and bakery items — is what has kept the restaurant alive and growing for the last 17 years. The most recent change is a makeover of the restaurant’s original dining area, which patrons knew as “the blue room.” It’s now adorned in shades of red, and the charming result is just in time for Valentine’s Day when the Van Loenens will be serving up a special four-course menu. No word on the particulars at press time, but you can rest assured that the meal will end with a sampling of Clare’s delectable desserts.
