But this neighborhood resident finds the most satisfaction from her Òfirst loveÓ :  painting portraits of children and adults for individual commissions. Working with a client on these pastel, oil or watercolor creations is an Òuplifting and positiveÓ experience, she says. She strives to create a portrait that is a realistic likeness which also contains the expressionistic elements needed to make it into a dramatic artwork.

Knowing these portraits are special to her subjects and may be passed down to family members is important to her.

ÒYou are creating heirlooms for people,Ó Robson says. ÒThese are more lasting than any kind of advertising you could do. This is something they really enjoy.Ó

Robson is a graduate of the Dallas Art Institute and has studied with local artists such as Kay Polk. She describes the portrait she did of Megan (pictured) as an example of how she works:

ÒI was trying to capture her likeness and beauty while at the same time creating a painting that would stand on its own besides being a commissioned piece.Ó
