Jogger killed on White Rock Creek Trail

The victim in the White Rock Trail homicide has been identified as David Stevens, a 53-year-old white male. We will continue to update as we learn more.

Update from police press conference: Lieutenant LaToya Porter told a group of reporters this morning that a white male had been stabbed to death and that a black male suspect has been taken into custody.

“We are not sure at this point” what the victim was doing on the trail, she said.

WFAA Channel 8 is reporting a biker witnessed the murder, a man hacking at the victim with a machete just before 8 a.m. The man reportedly died at the hospital.

Dallas Police are investigating the stabbing death of a man on the White Rock Creek Trail near Fair Oaks Avenue. The victim’s body was found Monday morning.

Police have yet to release details, including the identity of the victim. The body was apparently found on the trail near the Fair Oaks Transfer Station.
