Thursday: The Dallas Arboretum continues its spring concert series Cool Thursdays with Emerald City. Bring blankets or low beach chairs and a picnic (beer and wine are allowed). Or buy dinner from a food truck on site. Tickets for the 13-performance season, which runs through July 2, cost $130 for arboretum members and $156 otherwise. Friday and Saturday: The award-winning, high-kicking Highlandettes take the Lake Highlands High School auditorium stage Friday and Saturday at the annual spring show. The 2015 show, Forces of Nature, features performances to the music of AC/DC, Gene Kelly and everything in between. The Wildcat Wranglers, Cheerleaders, Espree, Folklorico, Dancing with the Dettes and the Highlandudes also will perform. The curtain goes up at 7:30 p.m., and tickets are available via the website or at the door. Reserved seats are $12 ($15 at the door) and general admission is $10. Students pay $5.
Saturday: Local Color features the work of local artists Debbie Lincoln, Sharon Hodges, Laurie Pace and Kay Wyne at Dutch Art Gallery, 10233 E. Northwest Hwy., dutchartgallery.net, free
Saturday and Sunday: The 10th-annual White Rock Home Tour features a mix of mid-century modern and new modern homes in our neighborhood. Proceeds from the home tour benefit Hexter Elementary School, and tickets are available at Tom Thumb, White Rock Coffee, Green Spot Market and Fuels and Hypnotic Donuts.
