The former Big Lots space at the southeast corner of Abrams and Skillman will soon be home to a nonprofit home improvement store/ donation center featuring new and gently used furniture, home accessories, building materials and appliances to the public at a discounted price.

Habitat for Humanity is a national charity that partners with families in need to build safe and affordable housing.

ReStore Resale Outlets are located around the country. They are owned and operated by local Habitat for Humanity affiliates, and proceeds are used to “build homes, community, and hope locally and around the world,” according to the website.

Reps say the Lake Highlands area ReStore is slated to open in late February or early March.
